Sophisticated platforms include automated appointment reminders (via text, email and phone) as well as other powerful functionality such as post-appointment surveys, e-newsletters, online financial reminders, online bill pay, 24-7 patient access to all their records from any device, and online referrals.

Today digital patient engagement systems have reached the early majority stage of adoption within general dentistry. This is just one finding from a national digital marketing brand and use study commissioned by Sesame Communications and conducted by Dental Products Report in April 2014.
